About Us
"Art is a weapon that can heal wounds. In the face of war, we must use
it to rebuild what has been destroyed—especially the lives of
children." — Banksy
From the Greek megas (great) and foné (voice), the megaphone isn’t
just a tool to amplify sound—it’s a symbol of collective expression
and cultural resonance. Whether it’s rallying voices at a protest,
energizing a crowd at a rally, or commanding attention in an iconic
film scene, the megaphone carries messages that demand to be heard.
We are MGFCOL, a collective of graphic designers founded in
Barranquilla Colombia in 2009. We started with the support of a local
design studio, but over time, we evolved, and today we operate from
the United Arab Emirates. For us, visual communication is not just a
tool—it is our most powerful weapon of expression.
Inspired by this spirit, Megáfono Magazine emerges as the first
digital publication dedicated to graphic and visual design on
Colombia’s Atlantic coast. It’s more than an e-zine; it’s a cultural
movement, a platform to amplify the voices of artists, designers, and
creatives across the Caribbean, Latin America, and internationally. By
showcasing bold talent and fostering collaboration, it aims to elevate
local graphic culture and connect a vibrant community of creators.
In a world where design speaks louder than words, Megáfono Magazine
celebrates the artistry, identity, and innovation driving cultural
change. Whether you’re a graphic designer, illustrator, or cultural
pioneer, this is your space. Here, every color has meaning, every line
tells a story, and every idea echoes far and wide.
